Day 2 - 4: The Great Wildlife Haven Of The Masai Mara
Early morning breakfast is served at the city hotel, check out and transfer to Wilson airport for your morning scheduled flight to Masai Mara. This huge expanse of gently rolling grassland – specked with flat-topped acacia trees and trampled by massive herds of zebras and wildebeest – is the ultimate African cliché.
A typically spectacular flight and pleasant drive deliver us to the Olare Mara Kempinski, nestled at the heart of its own private conservancy called Olare Orok adjoining the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp promises all the luxury whilst delivering a classic under-canvas safari experience. Featuring twelve tents, a central lounge and dining area, a tented bar set deep within a forested glade and a shaded swimming pool.
We’ll game drive throughout the Mara, spend rewarding time with the local Maasai people and make side trips to the Mara River and its tributaries for a gander at Leviathan crocodiles and hippos. Sunsets in the Mara add to the magical experience. As the sun sets, it leaves a streak of golden-yellow light in its wake, casting beautiful shadows of trees and wildlife against the glow on the Mara landscape.

Day 6 & 7: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda, Bwindi Forest
Sumptuous breakfast is served at the hotel followed by check-out and transfer to Entebbe airport to catch your scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp will host us for the next few days, located in one of the remotest areas of Africa, these comfortable canvas spaces are dressed with indigenous prints and furniture made from natural materials. Each tent has a spacious, stone-walled bathroom with private sections, and a free-standing bath for a relaxing soak after a day’s trekking.
Uganda’s forests (Bwindi Impenetrable and Mhaginga Forests) are home to over half the world’s 1065 mountain gorillas (2020) – the rest live in the neighbouring Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Because they do not survive in captivity, preservation of these fragile habitats is essential for the Mountain gorillas' survival.
Our next day, led by our guide and his crew, we begin making our way through forest of trailing vines, trilling birds calls, giant lobelia and mossy hagenia trees walking toward an encounter with one of the park’s families of the mountain gorillas; no more than eight people are allowed to visit any given family for more than an hour each day.

Day 8 & 9: Exploring the Isle of Spices, Zanzibar Island
A sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge; you will be transferred by road to the nearest airstrip for your scheduled flight via Entebbe, Uganda and Nairobi, Kenya to Zanzibar Island. It is a jewel in the ocean, surrounded by beaches that rate among the finest in the world. Here you can swim, snorkel or just lounge the hour’s away, while shoals of luminous fish graze over nearby coral gardens and pods of dolphins frolic offshore.
Zanzibar Serena will be our host for the 2-night stay tucked into the seafront, amidst the exotic sultan's palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours and bright bazaars of Stone Town. Comprised of two historic buildings designed in traditional Swahili style, this lavish retreat captures the elegance of a grander zibar era since passed.
Next day spend on an historical tour of the Stone Town the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings. You can spend many idle hours and days just wandering through the fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways.

Day 10 – 14: Pemba a Real Indian Ocean Island
Sumptuous breakfast is served followed by check out and transfer to Zanzibar airport for your scheduled flight to Pemba Island. The terrain is hilly and lushly vegetated, while much of the coast is lined with mangroves and lagoons, interspersed with idyllic beaches and islets. Offshore, coral reefs offer some of East Africa's best diving.
Submerge yourself in a private island surrounded by coral. You will experience the fascinating shifting lights of the water, the ebb and flow of the tide and subject to the curiosity of the fishy inhabitants of another world.
The Manta Resort will set out tone for our next few days; relax and unwind to the soothing sound of lapping waves. The villas feature a perfect blend of traditional Pemban decor with contemporary comfort. In addition, the newly installed state of the art Evening Breeze cooling system provides comfort without noise or drafts. After selecting your preferred sleeping climate, cool clean air will gently circulate over the surface of your bed—carrying with it the promise of a good night’s sleep.
In addition, experience the underwater room encapsulated within a turquoise blue bubble, watching shoals of reef fish swim by – sometimes in three or four layers of different species, this is a truly heart-stopping, yet awakening, experience. The floating structure, Swedish engineered, provides three levels, above the water clad in local hardwood is a lounge, bathroom below a stargazing, sun tanning bed. Each one worthy of its own story.
