Day 2 & 3: Laikipia Plateau

Your day begins with a sumptuous breakfast served at the city hotel followed by check out. You will be transferred to Wilson airport for your morning scheduled flight to Laikipia Plateau.
This patchwork of privately-owned ranches, wildlife conservancies and small-scale farms has become one of the most important areas for biodiversity in the country, boasting wildlife densities second only to those found in the Masai Mara. It's the last refuge of Kenya’s African wild dogs and it's here that some of the most effective conservation work in the country is being done. Indeed, these vast plains are home to some of Kenya’s highest populations of endangered species, including half of the country’s black rhinos and half of the world’s Grevy’s zebras.
Solio Lodge will set tone for our next 2 nights located on the private conservancy between the majestic slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. Internationally recognized as the most successful breeding reserve in Africa for rhino, both the black and white, it is also home to eland, oryx, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and a plethora of other species. The lodge has just six cosy and luxurious rooms, each en suite with large glass pane windows to take in the panoramic views of the landscape which is framed by Mount Kenya.

Day 4 & 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

Sum up your adventure with an early morning game drive thereafter back to the lodge for your morning breakfast and check out; followed by en-route transfer to the nearest airstrip to catch your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Masai Mara National Reserve is worldly renowned for the Great Wildebeest migration, as well as large numbers of predators, and plains game on the open savannah. Angama Mara will play host for our next 2 nights set on the edge of an escarpment, there is little that is conventional about the creation of Angama Mara, with views that stretch as far as the eye can see across the Maasai Mara set 300 meters below. The rare beauty of the site has an emotional effect on visitors – an almost dreamlike quality of being somewhere ‘between heaven and earth’ Guests instantly connect with the romance of the setting, where some of the loveliest scenes from the movie Out of Africa were filmed. Angama Mara, serviced by its own airstrip, consists of two completely separate luxury camps of just 15 tents each, every one with a vaunting view of the plains below. The Pavilion, situated between the two camps, is graced by an infinity pool, gift shop, wi-fi, library, astutely equipped fitness room, and an expansive deck from which to delight in the Mara’s famously theatrical sunrises, sunsets, and shifting daily moods…all within a 10-minute walk of all the tents in both camps.
