9-days Fly-in Kenya Safari
Kenya; Nairobi City, Amboseli National Park, Meru National Park and the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Our 9-days fly-in Kenya safari begins in Nairobi Capital. We will fly you with a light aircraft to the southern part of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park; Tawi Lodge will set tone for our next 2 nights in the heart of its own 3,000-acre private conservancy and in one of the richest game areas in Kenya, then take off to Meru National Park. Elsa’s Kopje will play host for our next 2 nights, sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable. We finish flourishingly in Sand River located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, in the fabled Masai Mara National Reserve, the ultimate African cliché.

Day 2 : Nairobi City Day Tour
Sumptuous breakfast is served at a city hotel; begin your day with an amazing tour to the David and Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage giving you truly Heart- touching memories. The Wildlife Trust is bordering Nairobi National Park offering safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued from parks and reserves in Kenya.
Later proceed to Giraffe Centre which protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, combines serious conservation with enjoyable activities. Enjoy your lunch at a city restaurant thereafter finalize your day with Karen Blixen Museum tour; was once the Centre piece of a farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror von Blixen Fincke. Located 10km from the City Centre, the Museum belongs to a different time period in the history of Kenya. The farm house gained international fame with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’ an Oscar winning film based on Karen’s an autobiography by the same title.

Day 3 & 4: Amboseli In the Shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro
Your day begins with a sumptuous breakfast served at the city hotel followed by check out. You will be transferred to Wilson airport for your morning scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park on Kenya’s south-eastern border with Tanzania. Amboseli is a place of ever-changing landscapes, from acacia woodland, giant palm forest, dusty dry lake beds, volcanic plains, to lush, cool, green swamps fed by the snowmelt of Kilimanjaro. Tawi Lodge will set our tone for our next 2 nights in the heart of its own 3,000-acre private conservancy and in one of the richest game areas in Kenya. It is an eco-award-winning lodge, combining unpretentious comfort with subtle accents of style coupled with traditional East African hospitality.
Amboseli National Park is home to some of Kenya’s biggest elephant herds. These gentle giants stroll across the landscape in their hundreds, a wonderous and awe-inspiring sight! Exceptional views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, excellent wildlife and exotic birdlife… The name ‘Amboseli’ comes from a Maasai word meaning ‘salty dust’. ‘Mountain of Dreams', as quoted by Ian Allen, ‘Kilima Njaro’, this majestic mountain frames the Amboseli vistas. Rising out of the dusty salt flats for which Amboseli is famous, shrouded in mystery and romance. Mt. Kilimanjaro brings snow to the equator. From the lodge nestled on the foothills of this iconic mountain we watch in awe as she shows off her character peeking through the clouds or showing off in full spectacle.

Day 5 & 6: The Scenic Meru National Park
Sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge followed by check out. We will take off to Meru National Park one of Kenya’s most underrated parks, Meru is a beguiling mix of iconic African landscapes (fertile hills, river forests, baobabs and doum palms) and a fine range of fauna (including black and white rhinos, elephants, lions and zebras). Meru is also where the lion legends of George Adamson’s Born Free came into being. But above all else, Meru is the safari as it used to be, with unusually quiet trails and the thrill of stumbling upon wildlife when you least expect it.
Elsa’s Kopje, will set tone for our next 2 nights sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable. 6 en-suite cottages nestled into the hillside, and overlooking the vast plains of Meru National Park, each of Elsa’s Kopje’s open-fronted cottages are unique in design and offer an elegant safari style.

Day 7 & 8: The Fabled Masai Mara National Reserve
Sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge and check-out; followed by en-route transfer to the nearest airstrip to catch your flight to the Masai Mara. This huge expanse of gently rolling grassland – specked with flat-topped acacia trees and trampled by massive herds of zebras and wildebeest – is the ultimate African cliché. But for once the reality lives up to the image and the Masai Mara, which comprises not just the famous reserve but also around a dozen community conservancies, several group ranches and numerous Maasai villages, is for many people not just the highlight of their Kenyan adventure but the very reason they came in the first place. Sand River will set our tone for the next 2 nights situated on a secluded and picturesque site, Sand River Masai Mara replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920’s.
