Its signature attraction is the sight of hundreds of big-tusked elephants set against the backdrop of Africa’s best views of Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895m). Apart from guaranteed elephant sightings, you’ll also see resident wildebeest and zebras, and you’ve a reasonable chance of spotting lions, cheetahs and hyenas. The park is also home to over 370 bird species, and it has an excellent array of lodges and an agreeably mild, dry climate. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Day 7 & 8: The Serengeti National Park

A sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge; We will make our lovely drive to the fabled Serengeti National Park. We shall make our first stop at the Olduvai Gorge, Its unique geological history provides remarkable documentation of ancient life, allowing us to look back to the days of our earliest ancestors. At 14,763 sq km, the Serengeti is an epic place, and it's renowned for its predators, especially lions, leopards and cheetahs, with plenty of elephants in residence, too. A few black rhinos around Moru Kopjes offer a chance to glimpse all of the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo), although the rhinos are very rarely seen. It’s also an incredible bird watching destination, with over 500 species to spot. Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge an award-winning gem seamlessly blended high into an acacia-lined ridge will set our tone deep in the heart of the world’s most important large animal migration corridor, we make rolling forays in to the plain, on the lookout for the large mammal species that inhabit this most noble swatch of planet Earth.

A sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge followed by a check-out; this day we will drive to the fabled lost world of the Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic bowl abounding with life and beauty, as the wonderful views are from above, the real magic happens when you get down inside and drive among an unparalleled concentration of wildlife, including the highest density of both lions and overall predators in Africa. One of the continent's premier attractions. Our base will be at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge nestled high above the plains into the Crater’s jagged rim, cloaked in river stone and indigenous vines, the lodge is barely visible to the naked eye. Framed by arched stone passages and timbered decks, its torch-lit walls are adorned with stylized cave paintings. At the stone heart of the lodge burns a glowing fire, which is kept constantly alight. Rooms are looped around the Crater rim. Each has its own rock-enclosed balcony, and all enjoy completely uninterrupted views of the volcanic amphitheatre far below.

Day 11, 12 & 13: The Great Masai Mara

A sumptuous breakfast is served at the lodge; We will depart by road to Kilimanjaro International airport where you fly to the Masai Mara via Nairobi Wilson airport. This huge expanse of gently rolling grassland – specked with flat-topped acacia trees and trampled by massive herds of zebras and wildebeest – is the ultimate African cliché. But for once the reality lives up to the image and the Masai Mara, which comprises not just the famous reserve but also around a dozen community conservancies, several group ranches and numerous Maasai villages, is for many people not just the highlight of their Kenyan adventure but the very reason they came in the first place. We will enjoy sundowners from our tented camp at the Kichwa Tembo Tented set on a private concession, with abundant iconic wildlife and panoramic Masai Mara views.
