Overview

Where Big Game Roams and Forests Whisper

This journey unfolds across Uganda’s most evocative landscapes—where open savannahs give way to mist-laced forests and every horizon tells a different story of the wild. Days begin with classic game drives in wildlife-rich parks, where elephants roam, lions track the plains, and the rhythms of Africa’s Big Five play out beneath vast skies. As the road winds onward, the safari deepens into the emerald heart of the rainforest. Here, ancient trees rise in quiet grandeur and the air hums with life. Guided by expert trackers, you step softly into the domain of our closest relatives—encountering playful chimpanzees in the canopy and sharing a rare, reverent hour with a mountain gorilla family deep within their ancestral home. Balanced between adventure and refinement, this safari blends remarkable wildlife encounters with thoughtfully chosen lodges that echo their surroundings.

It is a journey of contrast and connection—from roaring plains to whispering forests, from raw spectacle to intimate moments that linger long after the journey ends.

A moderate level of fitness is recommended for this rewarding experience.

Day 7

Lake Mbunyonyi – Islands of Calm

After breakfast, depart by road toward the serene beauty of Lake Mbunyonyi, often described as Uganda’s most tranquil lake. Winding through rolling highlands and terraced hills, the journey leads to still waters dotted with emerald islands. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle boat ride across the lake, gliding past forested islets and quiet shores where time seems to slow. The calm reflections and soft breezes offer a peaceful contrast to the days of trekking and game viewing. As evening settles, retreat to Arcadia Lodge, where elevated views over the water and surrounding hills provide the perfect setting to unwind and reflect on the journey so far.
Stay: Arcadia Lodge Lake Bunyonyi.

The landscape gradually opens into gentle savannah dotted with acacia trees, signaling a change in rhythm and terrain. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive through this uniquely intimate park—the only one in western Uganda where zebras and impalas roam freely. Look out for giraffes, buffalo, eland, and warthogs moving quietly across the plains, with shimmering lakes and rolling hills providing a serene backdrop. Lake Mburo reveals a softer side of safari—unhurried, graceful, and quietly rewarding, where wildlife encounters unfold at a gentle pace beneath wide African skies.
